CP1 Evaluation

Overall I think my final piece was successful, the ideas and themes I wanted to include during the process are clearly influential within the piece. I had a few issues with fixing together the final piece, however with some trail and error and a little manipulation I managed to construct a working piece. I feel that the print and colours work well with the material and the aspects I wanted to address. The dress as a whole gives a subtle elegance and vintage, feminine like feel that I originally translated from the ideas and images I started with as inspiration, all of which relate back to my original interest in lace. Throughout the process the development of my ideas has lead me to explore the use of paper to construct three-dimensional sculptures. I feel that I have explored in depth a large variety of paper manipulation techniques that have allowed me to create these pieces and has also opened me up to a new area of process. I think that my research was very thorough and I looked at artists related to each section of my process as I developed my ideas. For my own personal development I furthered my knowledge on the subject of paper forming by carrying out my own research from books and online, I started with basic folds and worked my way up to a standard that I felt would work well in my final piece. I manipulated the techniques I had learnt to create new shapes that suited my goal.
